What to Expect From Your Vasectomy

DrSnip provides instructions before your appointment so you understand how to prepare and what will happen on procedure day.

You will need to arrange for someone to drive you home after your vasectomy. Once home, plan to rest for the remainder of the day.

Many men return to desk work and light activities within one or two days. Strenuous exercise and similar physical activity should generally be postponed for at least one week to allow for recovery.

Male Birth Control Options for Bellevue Patients

Vasectomy is a permanent male birth control option for men who are confident they do not want biological children in the future or whose families are complete.

Unlike birth control methods that require ongoing use, vasectomy is intended to provide a long-term solution. Because it should be considered permanent, we encourage patients to think carefully about their future family planning goals before scheduling.

Vasectomy and Family Planning for Bellevue Patients

Choosing a vasectomy is an important family planning decision, and having clear information can help you determine whether permanent male birth control fits your plans.

If you’re looking for a vasectomy near Bellevue, WA, register online to get started, review our vasectomy information, or contact the DrSnip Seattle team with your questions.

Post-Vasectomy Care & Follow-Up

Post-vasectomy, you’ll receive guidance about rest, physical activity, and when you can return to your usual routine. If an urgent concern arises after your appointment, a DrSnip doctor is available 24/7.

Your vasectomy also does not make you immediately sterile. Another form of birth control must be used until post-vasectomy semen testing confirms there is no sperm remaining.

DrSnip will explain when to complete your semen test and how follow-up testing confirms that the procedure was successful.
