No-Needle, No-Scalpel Vasectomy in Dallas-Fort Worth

DrSnip uses a specialized no-needle, no-scalpel vasectomy technique designed around patient comfort. Instead of a traditional scalpel, our doctors use specialized medical scissors. Local anesthetic is delivered with a spring-powered hypospray device, allowing the treatment area to be numbed without a standard needle injection.

The vasectomy itself typically takes approximately 10–15 minutes. When appropriate, DrSnip can perform your consultation and vasectomy during the same visit, helping make the process convenient for busy Dallas-Fort Worth patients.

Permanent Birth Control for Men

A vasectomy is intended to be a permanent birth control option for men and is more than 99.5% effective once post-vasectomy semen testing confirms that the procedure was a success.

Vasectomy does not affect testosterone production, sex drive, erections, orgasm, or overall sexual performance.

Because vasectomy is considered permanent, patients should feel confident about their long-term family planning goals before treatment. Your consultation with a DrSnip physician provides an opportunity to discuss the procedure, understand your options, and ask questions before moving forward.

Preparing for Your Vasectomy at DrSnip

Before your appointment, the DrSnip team will provide instructions explaining how to prepare and what you can expect on procedure day.

Patients need to arrange for someone to drive them home after their vasectomy. Plan to rest for the remainder of the day. Many men can return to desk work and light activities within a day or two, while strenuous exercise should generally be avoided for at least one week.

What to Expect After Your Vasectomy

A vasectomy does not cause immediate sterility, so another form of birth control must be used until testing confirms the procedure was successful.

At DrSnip, post-vasectomy semen testing occurs after at least eight weeks and 15 ejaculations. This follow-up testing is an important part of confirming the absence of sperm and determining whether you can discontinue other forms of birth control.
