We want your experience to be simple and convenient. We offer morning and afternoon appointments weekly, including Saturdays. For patients with atypical working hours or who travel frequently, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
When it comes to family planning and contraception, there are many different options available. At DrSnip, we are happy to discuss these options with you, and you can always talk with your doctor as well. There are both temporary and permanent solutions. If you’re wanting a more permanent solution, a vasectomy could be a great option.
In making the decision of whether vasectomy is right for you, it’s important to understand that vasectomy is not an easy procedure to reverse. It should only be chosen if you’ve decided not to have any (or more) children.
While no one can predict the future, it’s important to consider the possibility of unforeseen changes in your life or the lives of your partner and children. We consider vasectomy to be a permanent procedure.
If you are thinking of vasectomy as an option for you, DrSnip can help! We offer this service in the Greater San Francisco area and are happy to assist in answering any questions.
Getting a vasectomy is a very big, life-altering decision. We consider vasectomy to be a permanent procedure.
However, If your life plan changes unexpectedly, the options for having children after a vasectomy include adoption, attempted vasectomy reversal, or pregnancy by artificial insemination using either frozen stored sperm, fresh donor sperm, or sperm surgically withdrawn from the testes.
All forms of assisted fertility involve a considerable commitment of resources and are not generally covered by health insurance
Our procedure is quick, effective, and minimally invasive. We do not use a scalpel, nor even a needle for anesthetic.
The entry point is so small we completely numb the area using a hypospray device, which injects a tiny stream of lidocaine through the skin using pressure alone. Just two quick “pops,” one for each vas, and you are instantly and thoroughly numb.
We achieve the most successful result while affecting as little as possible. We use the same entry point to access both vas deferens. No tissue is removed, nor permanent clips left inside.
DrSnip is a leading provider of vasectomy services in Greater San Francisco. We are known for providing excellent service and for having a friendly and skilled staff that is always ready to help our clients.

We can perform your consultation and procedure in a single visit. During your consultation, we will discuss your procedure, your other birth control options, and your reasons for considering a vasectomy. We will answer any questions you and your partner may have.
After your consultation, if you are ready to proceed, the doctor will perform the procedure. This entire office visit can be completed in as little as 90 minutes.
Vasectomy is usually covered by insurance plans. If your plan covers the procedure, your cost is determined by your insurance company. If the procedure is not covered by insurance and you are paying out of pocket, please feel free to call us to discuss.
The risks of a vasectomy are very low. You may experience some bleeding or infection, and there is always a low risk of complications like a blood clot.
