DRSNIP VASECTOMY
We will check your insurance and answer any questions you have. You can submit your insurance information by starting the registration process. (Registering does not commit you to getting your vasectomy with us, but the system is encrypted so your data is transmitted to us securely.)
Please read our info booklet and FAQs. These resources are meant to provide you with important information and help you make the best decision for you and your family.
When you arrive for your appointment, we ask that you enter the clinic wearing a mask and our Greeter will meet you to complete your COVID-19 screening After you enter the clinic, we will discuss vasectomy with you, what to expect during the procedure, and provide you with your after-care instructions. After this consultation, if you are ready to proceed, the doctor will perform the procedure.
The office visit is typically completed in less than 90 minutes. Once the procedure is completed, you will need to stay off your feet for the rest of the day (doctor’s orders). Be sure to arrange for transportation home – this is a requirement for all our patients.
In most cases, healing will occur uneventfully. Following your After Care instructions and understanding your limits will help support a full recovery and minimize the risk of complications.
Completing a semen test is the only way to confirm the success of your vasectomy. You should complete this testing no sooner than six weeks after your procedure, after having ejaculated at least 15 times. (Waiting longer than six weeks and ejaculating more than 15 times before providing a sample will increase your chance of a successful semen test on the first try.)
We help coordinate your semen testing and will discuss this with you on the day of your appointment.
